On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:45 PM from America, the LUI Association will speak at the 29th Annual BISC-MI Conference.
It is with immense honor, pride, and above all pleasure that we share with our readers that we have been invited to present our experience in America at one of the most important global networks addressing the issue of gender-based violence.
The LUI Association is the first Italian organization to take the floor at this important event!
Join us for “Spotlight on Solutions: From Intervention to Transformation,” a three-day event from November 4 to 6, 2025, designed exclusively for professionals passionate about revolutionizing intervention programs for those who choose to be violent towards their partners. This dynamic conference offers a unique platform to explore cutting-edge strategies that promote participant accountability, foster genuine compassion, and prioritize victim safety. Experience a collaborative environment where leading intervention programs against abuse, community partners, and research experts share innovative ideas and approaches.
Engaging sessions will examine conventional practices and explore adaptive interventions tailored to the evolving needs of diverse communities.
We hope you can join us in November, either in person or virtually, to enhance your professional practice, expand your network with industry pioneers, and be at the forefront of a transformative movement in intervention programming.
The experience of the LUI Association: an Italian CUAV – Speakers: Giulia De Gioia, Gabriele Lessi, and Jacopo Piampiani:
LUI is also the acronym that, in 2010, was chosen by two friends, one a psychotherapist and the other a lawyer, to name an association aimed at serving as a dialogue platform on masculinity in all its forms. The LUI Association was born in Livorno, Tuscany, as a men’s self-awareness group and has since expanded to include other activities focused on combating domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence. Among these initiatives, the LUI Association is also a CUAV – Center for Men or Potential Perpetrators of Domestic, Sexual, and Gender Violence, based on the founding principles of the Association, which continues to evolve in both content and legal framework. The specific characteristics and common challenges of intervention programs for offenders will be addressed, with a particular focus on creating content and stimuli compliant with legal provisions that promote the integration of key concepts and awareness in participants’ perspectives, also referencing the statistical model that the LUI Association is refining to monitor the progress of each user within the program in light of recent European and Italian legislative changes.
